Teepa Snow Comes to Town
Teepa Snow, one of America’s leading educators on Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care, presented at the Quadrangle on the Main Line recently for a one day seminar entitled, “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care.” Teepa has over 30 years of experience in geriatrics and is such a knowledgeable and dynamic presenter.
Teepa’s care strategies and techniques integrate what is known about brain function and changes that happen with dementing conditions with therapeutic approaches to foster positive outcomes, modified environmental supports, and altered task expectations that match retained or available abilities of people living with some form of dementing illness. Teepa teaches about the value of connection when primary verbal communication and interaction abilities are altered. Her teaching style is extraordinarily unique in that she is able to accurately demonstrate and model for her audience the struggle and challenges dementia creates for all parties involved. She was an enlightening, witty, entertaining, and energetic speaker, who is much sought after to present to agencies and organizations across the U.S and Canada.
Reliant at Home Care’s Social Worker was fortunate enough to attend this event and take away some valuable information in regards to Dementia care in the Senior Care industry.
